Camera skids are attachments designed for the camera head to:
- Elevate the camera head off the pipe floor, reducing the risk of pushing debris and dirt onto the camera lens, which can obstruct the view.
- Improve the functionality of the camera's LED lighting by keeping the lights centered, providing more even illumination of the pipe walls and ahead.
- Protect the camera head by creating a "shoveling" effect, allowing it to lift over offsets and obstacles, minimizing direct contact and potential damage.
Additionally, skids help increase the pushing distance of the camera and pushrod by offering a smoother, non-binding surface, ideal for navigating plastic, clay, metal, and cement pipes.
Various skid sizes and designs are available for different camera models and applications.
