Authorized Pallon master dealer for CO, UT, WY, MT, ID and NM
Lower the RinnoVision RV-MAX 360 into the manhole for one to three minutes. Pallon's AI sends back a coded, measured MACP report within five business days. One operator, no confined-space entry, no manual defect coding.
Camera by RinnoVision. AI coding by Pallon. Demoed, sold and supported by Intermountain Sales: (303) 762-1070

Pallon is AI software that reads sewer and manhole inspection video and returns a coded condition report: NASSCO MACP for manholes, PACP for sewer mains. Paired with the RinnoVision RV-MAX 360, a 360° camera lowered from the surface, one operator records a manhole in minutes and gets back every defect coded, measured and located.
Intermountain Sales, Inc. is the authorized master dealer for Pallon AI manhole and sewer line coding in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and New Mexico. We work with water, wastewater and stormwater departments every day, and we bring the camera to your manholes so you can judge the results on structures you already know.
Process
Your crew does one thing differently: it lowers a camera instead of sending a person down. Everything after that happens without files to move or defects to key in.
One operator sets the tripod or pole over the open manhole and lowers the RV-MAX 360. The whole structure is recorded in 360° video in one to three minutes. Nobody goes in the hole.
When the camera is back on a known Wi-Fi network, the video moves to RinnoCloud and on to Pallon by itself. No manual upload, no USB sticks, no re-keying.
Pallon's AI codes every observation to MACP v7.0.9 and measures the structure from its own 3D reconstruction of the video. There is no point cloud to buy.
Within five business days your reviewer checks each code against its video frame, signs off and exports to WinCan or other NASSCO-certified import and export software.
In the field
What happens behind the scenes
Three things have to be right for a defect code to be useful: what it is, how big it is and where it is. Pallon handles each one separately.

A deep neural network trained on millions of data points finds each observation and assigns the code the standard calls for: MACP in manholes, PACP in mainlines. It recognizes more than 300 defect types and subclasses, from fissures and surface damage to infiltration and defective connections.
Neural networks and 3D vision put numbers on what they find wherever the standard asks for them: height and width, intrusion length, cross-section reduction and diameter change. Measurements come from the video itself, not from a tape or an estimate.
3D vision fixes each observation's depth and clock position and separates single defects from continuous ones with millimeter precision. Where it matters, the report also notes whether the defect sits at a joint or a connection.
Pallon is developed by Pallon AG in Zurich, Switzerland. Intermountain Sales is its authorized master dealer for Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and New Mexico.

A 360° manhole inspection camera built to be carried by one person and run from the street. More than 350 RV-MAX units have been sold. The kit arrives ready to work: camera, tablet, accessories, rugged transport case, training and RinnoCloud access.
NASSCO's Manhole Assessment Certification Program (MACP) defines two inspection levels. They answer different questions, and until now they have cost very different amounts of time.

| Aspect | MACP Level 1 | MACP Level 2 | Level 2 with RV-MAX 360 + Pallon |
|---|---|---|---|
| Question it answers | Which manholes need a closer look? | What exactly is wrong, how bad is it, and what should we do about it? | The same Level 2 questions, for every manhole you capture |
| How it is done | From the surface, without special equipment or entry | Confined-space entry, a camera, or both, plus measuring tools | 360° camera lowered from the surface by one operator |
| What is recorded | Basic header information and the general condition of the structure | Full header, each component from cover to channel with measurements, pipe connections, and every defect coded with position and grade | All Level 2 observations coded and measured by AI, each linked to its video frame |
| Time on site | A short visual check | Traditionally 30 to 60 minutes with a 2 to 3 person entry crew | 1 to 3 minutes of recording |
| Office time | Minimal | 45 minutes or more of manual coding per manhole | About 5 minutes to review and sign off |
| Best use | Screening a large inventory | Rehabilitation design, capital planning and inflow and infiltration programs | Level 2 data across the whole inventory, not just the worst few |
Most utilities ration Level 2 inspections because of the entry crew and the coding hours. When capture takes minutes and the coding arrives done, you can afford Level 2 data on every structure and rank repairs on evidence. Your crew still enters header data and cover and frame measurements on site, and your certified reviewer signs off every manhole.
A coded manhole is only useful once it sits next to the rest of your inspection records. The data path is automatic until it reaches your reviewer, and standard from there on.
Header fields, components, pipe connections, observations and grades arrive as data your inspection software can import, with a link back to the full 360° recording for every manhole.
The same defect gets the same code no matter who lowered the camera or when. That consistency is what makes year-over-year comparison and trend analysis in a MACP database possible.
From your inspection software, condition grades flow into your asset management or GIS system the way they do today. Pallon also exports reports and spreadsheets for engineering work.
To be straight about it: there is no native plug-in between Pallon and every asset management system. The usual route is Pallon, then your inspection software such as WinCan, then asset management. We are glad to walk through an export with your own data. Pallon is NASSCO PACP Certified Software (Version 8, import and export); the certification covers data import and export, and NASSCO does not certify automated defect recognition components.
Manned entry gives hands-on access but no record you can revisit. A zoom pole camera records only what the operator points at. A 3D scanner sees everything at six-figure cost. The RV-MAX 360 with Pallon gives you the complete record at pole-camera speed.
| Criterion | Manned entry | Zoom pole camera | 3D optical scanner | RV-MAX 360 + Pallon |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No confined-space entry | Entry required | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Full 360° record to revisit | No | Operator's view only | Yes | 8MP 360° video |
| Crew on site | 2 to 3 trained staff | 1 to 2 | 1 to 2 | 1 operator |
| Time per manhole on site | 30 to 60 min | Depends on the operator | About 2 to 5 min | 1 to 3 min |
| Level 2 MACP measurements | Tape, by hand | Limited | From a point cloud | Coded and measured for you |
| What you deploy | Crew, tripod, gas monitor | Portable pole | Probe, winch, software | 3 kg camera, 12-hour battery |
| Hardware investment | Entry gear, gas monitor | Low | More than $100,000 | $22,500 to $24,795 kit |
| Cost per manhole | $140 or more | Crew plus manual coding | Crew plus manual coding | About $46 to $60 all-in |
RV-MAX 360 figures from RinnoVision and its April 2026 quote. 3D scanner scan times from manufacturer material. Other times and system prices are industry estimates. Costs per manhole come from the cost model below at 500 to 5,000 manholes a year.
The same AI codes mainline sewer inspection video. Keep running the crawler cameras you own, skip the defect coding in the truck, and upload the footage. Pallon detects, measures and locates each defect and returns PACP-coded results for your certified staff to review.
Each inspection opens in the Pallon web app with the coded observations beside the video, and exports as a full report with grades, sketch and photos.

Research attributed to the EPA puts roughly 30 to 50 percent of inflow and infiltration at defects in or near manholes, yet manholes are usually the asset with the least consistent condition data. That gap affects everyone who touches the collection system.

Water and wastewater departments are our specialty, and we have spent more than 30 years putting stormwater and wastewater collection tools in the hands of the crews who use them.
Pallon is AI software that reads sewer and manhole inspection video and returns a coded condition report. It detects each defect, measures it, records where it sits in the structure and assigns the code from the standard you work to: NASSCO MACP for manholes and PACP for sewer mains. Your certified reviewer checks the result and signs off. More than 250 utilities, engineering firms and contractors use it.
The RV-MAX 360 is a 360-degree manhole inspection camera that is lowered from the surface on a pole or a reel tripod. It records the whole structure in 8MP 360° video in one pass, usually in 1 to 3 minutes, with one operator and no confined-space entry. It weighs 3 kg, runs about 12 hours on a battery and is rated IP68.
A MACP Level 1 inspection is a screening pass. It records basic information and the general condition of the manhole from the surface, and its main job is to show which structures need a closer look. A MACP Level 2 inspection is the detailed assessment: it documents every defect with its code, position and grade, records each component and pipe connection with measurements, and gives engineers what they need to specify repairs. The RV-MAX 360 and Pallon deliver Level 2 coding and measurements from a 1 to 3 minute surface capture.
No. The camera is lowered from the surface and one operator runs it from a tablet, so the inspection itself needs no confined-space entry, no entry permit and no entry crew. Manned entry typically ties up 2 to 3 trained staff for 30 to 60 minutes per manhole.
Recording takes 1 to 3 minutes per manhole and one operator can cover up to 80 manholes in a day. The video syncs to the cloud on its own, and Pallon returns each manhole coded and measured within 5 business days.
Pallon Level 2 MACP coding lists at $29.95 per manhole, dropping to $19.95 per manhole at 10,000 manholes a year, plus a $2,450 annual platform fee. The RV-MAX 360 kit lists from $22,500 with the 30-ft pole to $24,795 with both pole and 165-ft reel tripod. In our cost model that works out to roughly $46 to $60 per manhole all-in, against $140 or more for manned entry with manual coding. Prices are April 2026 list prices in USD; your formal quote from Intermountain Sales confirms current pricing.
Yes. After your reviewer signs off, the inspection exports to WinCan or other NASSCO-certified import and export software, or to a report or spreadsheet. From your inspection software the condition data moves into your asset management system the way it does today. There is no native plug-in between Pallon and every asset management system, so the usual route is Pallon, then your inspection software, then asset management.
Yes, and no new camera is needed. Pallon codes mainline inspection video from the crawler cameras you already run. Send a set of your CCTV runs and your team can compare the PACP output with its own coding before you commit to anything.
The AI proposes and your people decide. Every coded observation sits next to the video frame it came from, so a reviewer can confirm or override it in seconds. The fair test is your own assets: Intermountain Sales demos the RV-MAX 360 on your manholes, Pallon codes up to 5 of them free, and your team compares the result with its own coding.
The camera cannot see below standing water, so a flooded structure is recorded down to the water level. It is built for structures up to about 10 to 15 ft in diameter. Results depend on a clean capture: QR code aligned with the outgoing pipe, the right light mode and a steady descent under 10 ft per minute. Your crew still enters header data and cover and frame measurements on site.
