Sondes are small, self-contained, battery-powered transmitters designed for locating within non-metallic pipes and ducts. They can be propelled through these spaces and detected on the surface using a sonde locator or a buried utility locator equipped with a sonde mode. Sondes are also integrated into various devices such as sewer push cameras, robotic crawler cameras, or attached to jetter hoses.
Sondes are available in different sizes, which correspond to the depth at which they can be located. They also come in various frequencies, enabling them to be detected in both metallic and non-metallic pipes and ducts.
