The SM50 Water Pump
The SM50 Water Pump is a submersible centrifugal pump designed for ease of use, requiring no priming. Its contaminant-tolerant gear motor is uniquely engineered for continuous high-speed operation and directly drives the impeller, eliminating the need for spindle bearings and their associated maintenance. The semi-closed impeller, made of cast stainless steel, offers excellent corrosion resistance.
A robust series of seals on the drive shaft effectively contain hydraulic fluid and pumped water in their respective areas, ensuring reliability even when the pump runs dry, without the risk of sudden seal failure. Cleaning and maintenance are straightforward, requiring the removal of only two cap screws. Once removed, the motor and impeller assembly can be easily detached from the pump casing for servicing.
The SM50 is equipped with dripless flat-faced HTMA quick couplers, allowing for simple and secure connections to the hydraulic system. Its water outlet features a 3-inch pipe thread fitted with a 3-inch groove fitting, enabling compatibility with a cam hose end fitting. The pump can draw down water to a depth of just 3.5 inches. When placed in a sump it will efficiently remove all but the last 3.5 inches of water.
An integral screen ensures solids larger than 3/8 inch are kept out of the pump, while the SM50 is capable of handling clear water as well as water containing up to 10% solids. This combination of durability, ease of maintenance, and versatility makes the SM50 an ideal choice for a wide range of applications.
