Sondes Sondes are compact, self-sustained transmitters powered by batteries. They are designed to be propelled through non-metallic pipes and ducts and can be detected on the surface using a sonde locator or a buried utility locator equipped with a sonde mode. Sondes are also integrated into various other devices such as sewer push cameras, robotic crawler cameras, or they can be attached to a jetter hose.
Sondes are available in a range of sizes, which correlates with the depth at which they can be detected. They can operate at different frequencies, enabling their detection in both metallic and non-metallic pipes and ducts.
