The vCamDrain features a Wi-Fi-enabled reel, controlled via the vCam Mobile Controller (VMC) app. When connected to the reel over Wi-Fi, the VMC app allows control of the camera lights, distance counter reset, sonde, and text writer. It also displays the reel's Wi-Fi connection, battery level, and charging status. You can record videos directly through the app, which can be instantly shared or transferred to the reel's USB port.

The reel comes equipped with a durable stainless-steel HD camera, 0.70″ (18mm) in diameter, featuring a sapphire lens and ultra-bright LEDs for clear, detailed imaging of the pipe’s interior. Its 9mm custom pushrod strikes the ideal balance between flexibility and pushing strength, suitable for use in lines ranging from 1.5 to 3 inches. The pushrod’s drag-resistant nylon jacketing allows it to easily navigate multiple bends, tight turns, p-traps, and most toilet traps. Both the camera head and spring assembly, which includes a built-in 512Hz sonde, are field serviceable.

The reel is powered by internal lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries, providing clean and reliable long-lasting power. A six-hour charge delivers up to 12 hours of operation with intermittent sonde use.
