Its adaptability is enhanced by three tracing methods—conductive, inductive, and coupling clamp—allowing it to handle a variety of locating situations.
Modes:
Conductive Mode: Ideal for tracing buried utilities, this mode involves directly connecting the transmitter to the utility with conductive tracing cables, generating the strongest signal for the receiver to detect.
Inductive Mode: When a direct connection isn’t possible, the transmitter magnetically couples an energizing current to the utility. This method is most effective when the utility's location is already partially known, ensuring proper transmitter placement.
Coupling Clamp Mode: In cases where the utility is exposed but doesn’t permit direct connection, the coupling clamp accessory allows for magnetic coupling of the energizing current from the transmitter into the utility.
