Service Body Valve Maintenance Skid VMS, Diesel

The Wachs Service Body VMS Valve Maintenance Skid is designed for integration with the custom Knapheide service body, creating a powerful and efficient valve maintenance solution. Assembled by Wachs and shipped directly to Knapheide, the skid is professionally upfitted after the custom service body has been installed on your supplied chassis cab.

Step 1: Specify Your Chassis Cab

To begin, order your chassis cab fleet vehicle with the following minimum specifications:

19,500 GVRW rating
84-inch cab-to-axle length
220-amp alternator (minimum) to support the power inverter; a 300-amp high-capacity alternator or dual alternators are recommended for optimal performance.
Upfitter switches and an in-cab reverse camera are required for functionality.

Seamless Integration

The Service Body VMS Skid, Diesel is powered by a reliable Kubota 4-stroke diesel engine, matched to the vehicle’s engine type. The skid draws fuel directly from the truck, eliminating the need for separate refueling. Like all Wachs skid platforms, it comes preinstalled and prewired, with valve maintenance components such as the vacuum system, water supply, spoils tank, and hydraulic power unit (HPU) mounted on a durable steel skid. The unit is ready to bolt down to the service body with all mechanical, fluid, and electrical connections preconfigured.

Customizable Equipment

The Service Body Skid can be configured with a variety of valve exercisers, vacuum systems with powered spoils tanks, hot water systems, and more. Standard equipment includes:
500 CFM, 11in Hg vacuum system
250-gallon spoils tank with Wachs-exclusive hydraulic slide, tilt, rear discharge, and power-latching door
2.5 GPM @ 3,000 PSI pressure washer and 80-gallon water tank, with an optional hot water system for cold environments

The integrated HPU (Hydraulic Power Unit) features an HTMA Class II circuit with a 10-gallon reservoir, fan-cooled heat exchanger, and continuous-duty output of 8 GPM @ 2,000 PSI. It powers the ERV-750, optional TM-7 valve exerciser, and accessory tools such as hydraulic breakers. Additional equipment includes a 50-foot hydraulic hose reel, programmable arrow board, and work lights.
