Wachs Service Body VMS Valve Maintenance Skid 

The Wachs Service Body VMS Valve Maintenance Skid is specifically designed to work with the custom Knapheide service body, providing a powerful and efficient solution for valve maintenance. Assembled by Wachs and shipped directly to Knapheide, the skid is installed after the custom service body is mounted to your chassis cab, creating a fully integrated system.

Step 1: Select Your Chassis Cab
To get started, order your chassis cab vehicle with the following minimum specifications:

19,500 GVRW rating
84-inch cab-to-axle length
220-amp alternator minimum (300-amp high-capacity or dual alternators recommended for maximum inverter performance)
Upfitter switches and an in-cab reverse camera

These features ensure the chassis cab meets the power and operational requirements of the service body and skid system.

Powerful and Integrated Design

The Service Body VMS Skid, Gas is powered by a reliable Kohler 27 HP gasoline engine, designed to match the engine type of the chassis cab. Drawing fuel directly from the truck, the skid eliminates the need for separate refueling. Preinstalled and prewired on a durable steel skid, the system includes all necessary valve maintenance components, such as the vacuum system, water supply, spoils tank, and hydraulic power unit (HPU). The skid is ready to bolt into the custom service body with complete mechanical, fluid, and electrical connections.

Customizable Equipment Options

The Service Body Skid can be equipped with a wide range of tools to meet specific operational needs, including:
Valve exercisers
Vacuum systems with powered spoils tanks
Hot water systems for colder climates
2.5 GPM @ 3000 PSI pressure washer system with an 80-gallon water tank

Standard equipment also includes a 500 CFM, 11in Hg vacuum system, a 250-gallon spoils tank with Wachs-exclusive hydraulic slide, tilt, and powered rear discharge, and a secure latching rear door.

The Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) features an HTMA Class II circuit with a 10-gallon reservoir and a fan-cooled heat exchanger, delivering up to 8 GPM @ 2000 PSI. It powers the ERV-750, optional TM-7 valve exerciser, and other hydraulic tools such as breakers. Additional features include a 50-ft hydraulic hose reel, a programmable arrow board, and work lights.
