The 5-Watt broadband transmitter offers selectable induction and direct connection frequencies ranging from 98Hz to 200kHz, along with SD mode (Signal Direction), fault-finding capabilities, and accurate resistance measurement up to 1 Mohm. Its two-inch by one-inch dot matrix display, with LED backlighting, shows essential data such as output current, connection type, voltage, resistance, frequency, volume, battery status, and high voltage warnings.
The Signal Direction (SD) mode helps verify that the located line is indeed the target line connected to the transmitter.
When connected to a target line, the transmitter sends a signal that travels along the line and typically returns via the ground and ground stake. However, the signal may sometimes return along adjacent utilities, creating multiple radiating signals that complicate target identification. These return signals often flow in the opposite direction to the applied signal. The Signal Direction feature distinguishes the correct signal flow, identifying the target line.
Housed in a lightweight, rugged, and ergonomic IP54-rated case, the transmitter delivers consistent current output in direct connect, clamp, or induction modes and is protected against accidental connection to incoming voltages up to 240V.
